Abstract

Repetitive adoption of glyphosate and in high rates have selected resistant biotypes of weeds, as well as it has contributed to selecting glyphosate-tolerant species. The most common solution for that is the inclusion of alternative herbicides in the system of production, applied isolated or in the tank mixtures. Therefore, this work was developed with the objective of evaluating the efficacy and interaction of glyphosate-saflufenacil tank mixtures for controlling two weed species. Two independent experiments were developed, evaluating one monocotyledonous weed species (sourgrass – Digitaria insularis) and one dicotyledonous (morning glory – Ipomoea triloba). Treatments were consequence of a factorial combination 4x4, i.e., four rates of glyphosate (0, 360, 720 and 1,080 g ha-1) and four rates of saflufenacil (0, 21, 42 and 63 g ha-1). In all the trials, experimental design adopted was randomized blocks with five replications. Among the combinations, mixture was considered additive for sourgrass and morning glory. These mixtures may be considered as important tools to control resistant and tolerant weeds in management systems, being saflufenacil an excelent molecule to be applied with glyphosate.

Saul Jorge Pinto de Carvalho

possui graduação em Engenharia Agronômica (2004), Licenciatura em Ciências Agrárias (2004), mestrado em Agronomia - Fitotecnia (2007) e doutorado em Ciências - Fitotecnia (2009) pela Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" - ESALQ/USP. Atualmente é professor do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Sul de Minas Gerais, Campus Machado. Tem experiência na área de Agronomia, com ênfase em Matologia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: experimentação, manejo, plantas daninhas, biologia, resistência, controle e herbicidologia.
